Impelled by the impactful mechanics of colour, Carmel Reilly’s abstracts assimilate evocative and enthralling tones that converge on the canvas in a unique embrace. Balancing the organised and the organic, Carmel’s use of colour creates a rich sensory experience based on memories, mood, and moments in time. While the compositional structure feels fluid and free-flowing, her works arrive at conclusions that appear definite and discerning.

Carmel sells her works out of her home studio in Subiaco, Western Australia. Viewings are available and can be made via appointment. She is currently accepting commissions, having completed several for a number of clients, based both within Australia and overseas.

Bringing your vision to life.

To start, Carmel will communicate with you (either in person, over the phone or email) for an exploratory briefing session.

Here, you’ll discuss how you want your final artwork to feel, what colours and mediums you’d like to see, how large the canvas should be, as well as where you plan to place in it your workplace or home. You’re also invited to ask Carmel any questions about her creative process and techniques.

Using this information, Carmel will create and present a “mini gallery” that captures varying forms your final piece could take. Once you choose one of these to move forward with, Carmel will start creating the actual work. You’ll receive photo updates along the way, and be given two opportunities to provide feedback and make changes.

Commission artworks can be requested from anywhere in Australia or Internationally.

These pieces require custom quotes and are priced on size, materials, and the time required to bring everything together. After the initial meeting, you’ll be presented with a formal quote and be asked to pay a 30% deposit to get started. You’ll also be required to sign a Terms & Conditions agreement that ensures both parties are on the same page.
